ERM & CDI Weekly Update format

How to format ERM & CDI Weekly Update

Each week the NZ Electronic Resources Manager creates a Word document on the Sharepoint site for ULMS.  In the Subcommitee > ERM > ERM & CDI Weekly Update Reports.  Locate the correct year and month and create the document.

Tips for formatting:

  • Use the same format for the title of the document:
    • "ERM & CDI Weekly Update [MONTH & DAY]"
  • The Heading of the document is similar:
    • "ERM & CDI Weeky Update week of [MONTH & DAY]"
  • Each entry is Heading 2
  • Use the Atkinson Hyperlegible for the font.  It helps with readers with vision issues.
    • "Atkinson Hyperlegible, named after the founder of the Braille Institute, has been developed specifically to increase legibility for readers with low vision, and to improve comprehension.
Having a traditional grotesque sans-serif at its core, it departs from tradition to incorporate unambiguous, distinctive elements—and at times, unexpected forms—always with the goal of increasing character recognition and ultimately improve reading."
  • Just before the document is sent out at the end of the week, add the Table of Contents
    • Click just below the title of the document
    • Go to the Insert tab at the top of the document
    • Click on Table of Contents

Tips for Content:

Include updates to anything related to electronic resource content:

  • Collections added or removed from the Network Zone (NZ)
  • Updates to the NZ licenses
  • Issues with linking for an e-collection
  • Updates to CDI collections (CZUTL reports)
  • Follow Content-L and Alma-L and report issues that may affect any of the CSU libraries
  • Follow EZPROXY-L and report updates to stanza or issues with the proxy
  • Add Tech Service Open Forum and ERM Open Forum links to the recording
  • Occasionally remind ERM about how to report issues with Ex Libris, ProQuest (SalesForce) and other vendors.
    • There are ULMS Guide pages that have vendor contacts and helpful guides on how to report an issue with electronic resources
  • Include announcements of upcoming open forums, webinars, and meetings that are a part of the lifecycle of electronic resources, which can include acquisitions processes or collection development
