Confirm Central Discovery Index (CDI) Records in OneSearch

Check discoverability of Network Zone CDI collections in OneSearch

The CDI electronic collections configured in the Network Zone (NZ), should be tested for discoverability in OneSearch.

  • CDI records should appear 48-72 hours after activation.
  • CDI collections have DBID's listed in the electronic collection details page.
    • Those managing CDI collections will need to login to the NZ, using the CDI user login.
  • The CDI DBID's do not appear in Network tab in the Institution Zone (IZ).
  • This same verification can be performed for Institution Zone (IZ) CDI collections.

Below are instructions to verify CDI records for a specific collection are appearing in OneSearch:

  1. Find the CDI collection DBID by searching e-collection name in the NZ instance:
    1. Login to the NZ instance using the CDI user
    2. Search for the Electronic Collection Name (very important to search by Electronic Collection)
    3. Locate: CDI Collection ID (DB ID)

    4. Copy the ID
    5. Perform a search in OneSearch
  2. In OneSearch, search for any topic (keep it simple):
    1. For example, type "Sharks" in OneSearch
    2. Modify the search parameters in the URL to search for the specific CDI collection
      1. Example (RIE is the CDI DBID for IEEE in the Network Zone)
      2. Original search URL:

      3. The new URL should look like this:
          1. These are the CDI records for the IEEE collection
      4. There are more detailed instructions for searching CDI record availability in the Ex Libris CDI documentation This link will take you to an external website in a new tab.
