Alma & CDI Weekly Update Format

Each week, Ex Libris releases weekly updates for Alma and for CDI.  The Network Zone Electronic Resource Manager sends out the notes to the CSU Tech Services listserv.

The Alma Weekly Update Notes This link will take you to an external website in a new tab. are posted online at the beginning of the week, usually Monday or Tuesday.

The CDI Weekly Update Notes This link will take you to an external website in a new tab. are also post online, usually on Sunday or Monday.

The NZ Electronic Resources Manager copies the online notes and posted them in an email to Tech Services.  Format the email but changing the font type to Atkinson Hyperlegible.  It helps with readers with vision issues.  Also, change the font size to 12 to make the tables fit in the email.

  • "Atkinson Hyperlegible, named after the founder of the Braille Institute, has been developed specifically to increase legibility for readers with low vision, and to improve comprehension.
Having a traditional grotesque sans-serif at its core, it departs from tradition to incorporate unambiguous, distinctive elements—and at times, unexpected forms—always with the goal of increasing character recognition and ultimately improve reading."

The only section not copied into the email, is the New Electronic Collections from the Alma Weekly Update notes.  This list can be quite long so include a note in the email reminding everyone to check the online notes for new e-collections.

Format the CDI notes the same as the Alma notes.  Highlight the title of each section so that they stand out to the libraries.

Example of an email:

"The latest Alma & CDI weekly update is now available. Please see the online notes for e-collections added to the CZ this week."

Then below this section, add:

Below this section, include the weekly updates copied from the online notes.
